Refugees are those who are forced to flee their home countries because of war and persecution. Most are never able to return home; resettlement in a third country, like the United States, is their last resort. Each year, the Alabama Office for Refugees and its parent agency, Inspiritus, assists hundreds of refugees, asylees, and other immigrants on their journey from surviving to thriving. We aim to help new Americans across the state of Alabama achieve self-sufficiency and transition successfully into their new communities and country.
